One can simply put the term strategy as the plan of action or a pathway made in order to accomplish certain goals and aims. And in business terms, it is easy to understand that strategy means creating a path and undetailed plan of action that has its own role in achieving the business objectives and goals desired by the firm. the major initiatives that the top management of a firm takes are analysed that includes resources and performances with considerations to the internal as well as external environment. This process is called management of strategy or strategic management.
As a BBA student, i am hoping to be able to learn about the specification of mission, vision, objectives, development of plans and policies, projects, allocation of resources, etc from this module. Strategy is very important in any type of business. In fact, not only businesses but also in our daily lives, we need strategies to study, strategies to run a business, teachers need strategies to teach their students and most of all strategies to do small things in life.
For instance, let us suppose that we want to bake a cake. First we need to find a recepie, then ingredients need to be bought. After that the correct technique to mix the batter and finally the temperature to bake. simple as it sounds, it is eaually difficult and requires alot of brainstorming beforehand.
This module will help us understand the core of strategies and its impacts on us. I am hoping to learn, absorb and use the skills later in future.
Strategies are supposed to help a firm first create an environmental analysis and then according to the results obtained, we can set some plans and objectives that can help obtain goals and that is why strategies are always the core of any business functioning. I would love to experiment on internal and external environment to find out its impacts on the firm or the business i will work on. And this module is going to teach me that. To add more, the opportunities, strengths, weaknesses and threats can also be analysed. This will give me an accuracy and reliability to the data that can help me with the firm and its current position after i pass out from this institution.
Three things that might actually help me learn and get good grades in this particular module would be:
1. My lecturer and his knowledge and the extent to which he will be helpful to us because he has to teach us everything and we are here to grasp the opportunity to learn from such wide knowledge banks and take whatever we can that might be useful later.
2. My classmates and their way of behaving in the class room. If the environment is good, friendly and learnable then obviously i can learn more, understand more and grasp more. However if the class is noisy and if my classmates create a problematic environment then obviously i will not be able to learn properly no matter how hard the teacher tries.
3. Me myself and the facilities provided by the college. I would say me because the more i am eager to learn and get good grades the more i will try hard to listen to the teachers, ignore unfriendly an not so learnable environment, do some research and still try to be focused to get good grades. And i would say the college and its facilities because of the current situation in Nepal. There are power cuts, strikes and everything here and college provides us enough space, internet facilities and electricity to help us complete our assignments and we are always welcome to access the resources.
All the three things can seriously help me get good grades and give me more of a good environment to learn and be capable in future.
Three things that i will do to get good grades would be my devotion, desire to learn and succeed and my efforts that i make to learn and ace in this module.
Again there are three things that others can do to help me learn and get good marks and they are:
1. If i dont understand something and if i ask my lecturer, he should be helpful and kind so that i can feel at ease with him to ask the questions as many times as i want.
2. My friends and classmates can be helpful in group works by doing their share of work with full honesty and devotion. They can be supportive and help me when i am clueless about something.
3. The college can help me take books from the library, use internet facilities and other resources to guide me for the assignments and other course works.
